Akuma (known as Gouki in the Japanese version) is a recurring character from the Street Fighter series, debuting in Street Fighter II Turbo.

Bio[edit | edit source]

The younger brother of Gouken (the the master of Ryu and Ken Masters), Akuma is a sharp foil to his older sibling. Where Gouken fights for what generally would be considered noble causes, Akuma's reason for fighting (and potentially his whole raison d'etre) boils down to defeating powerful opponents to become more powerful himself. He doesn't care about much of anything else, and while this means he generally will treat 'unworthy' foes with indifference, doing so much as to disturb his training comes with painful consequences.

In short, Akuma is more of a force of nature than a conventional human being - he has and will kill in order to met his goal (something experienced by his unfortunate master and Gouken himself), yet when villains like Bison strive for world dominance or the usual jazz, Akuma really just wants to be the most lethal killing machine on earth.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Akuma likely debuted in 8chanmania IV. There, he showed Big Boss who's boss, turned Spider-Man into a fine spidery paste, broke the programming of the Runescape Bot, and fought at least two other opponents (including either Donkey Kong or Kirby before securing the mania's belt.

As one of the champions of the first season, Akuma logically was invited to 8chanmania XXXIII. He landed a jaw-shattering KO on Yuuka Kazami and won against the personified mountain of meat and muscle otherwise known as E. Honda, but somehow tapped out against Clown in the quarter finals.

His last known appearance was in 8chanmania C, where he fought and bested Kazumi Mishima via pinfall.
