Bob Ross was an American painter and television personality.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Originally starting out as a carpenter like his old man, Ross' spent the better part of 20 years enlisted with the US military over in scenic Alaska; where he also picked up his hobby of painting. This proved to be a two-fold blessing: For one, his limited spare time led the amateur artist to pick up his signature wet-on-wet style that allowed him to finish pictures in minutes, rather than hours. For another, having to shout recruits into the ground gave him a life-long dislike against raising his voice.

Both traits quickly earned Ross a dedicated fan following when he began to host his own show, The Joy of Painting, on PBS. In theory, the format was meant to inspire people into picking up the pain brush themselves. In practice, most viewers tuned in because Ross' calm and soothing voice was capable of bringing inner peace to even the most troubled of minds. Some argue Ross was the first producer of ASMR content, but comparing the man to all the e-thots performing sloppy oral intercourse on a microphone is nothing short of an open insult.

Unfortunately, Ross' life-long habit of smoking ultimately took its toll, and he died from complications of lymphoma in 1995.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Bob Ross debuted in 8chanmania XXXVI, where he was danced out of the room by Miror B..

Ross also was one of the late celebrities to star in the Dead Man's mania of 8chanmania LXXXI. He lost his opening battle against Miyu Matsuki, although Ross heavily implied he let her win on purpose.
