Bubsy T. Bobcat is the main protagonist and mascot of the eponymous Bubsy series.

Bio[edit | edit source]

During the platformer craze between Nintendo's Mario and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog, gaming development company Accolade decided it wanted a piece of the pie, and set out to create mascot for its own series of platformers. The result of this was Bubsy - an anthropomorphic Bobcat with a motor-mouth's word of snarky one-liners and the largest collection of yarn balls on the planet.

While Bubsy was reasonably popular during his early career and even hyped as a potential "Sonic Killer" due to aggressive marketing, the Bobcat nowadays is mostly remembered for the catastrophic trainwreck that was his fourth game - Bubsy 3D: Furbitten Planet. An attempt to jump in on the nascent market for 3D platformers just like the earlier three games had done with those in 2D, Bubsy 3D became a sobering experience as to what happens if you chuck however veteran developers on a 3D title while they have no idea how 3D works. This went to the point that Furbitten Planet is considered to be one of the worst games of all times.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Bubsy debuted in 8chanmania IV. He sent Animal Crossing's furry fans frothing at the mouth when he knocked Isabelle out of the preliminaries, but then got stomped by Kirby in the following round.

The Bobcat was a fitting candidate for the 1990's-themed 8chanmania LII. Sadly for him, the sarcastic snark of Gex was superior to his own; and Bubsy didn't make it past the first round.

A similar fate befell him in 8chanmania LXI, where he was cleared out by Homestuck's Joey Claire.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Aside from Bubsy 3D, the only other thing people remember about him are horrible cat puns that might as well be considered war crimes.
