Dagoth Ur is a main character and the primary antagonist from The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Dagoth Ur is an ancient Dunmer (or Dark Elf) and ash vampire. He was the leader of the House of Ur from the lands of Morrowind and the sworn protector of the Heart of Lorkhan, an artifact of divine power. He met his initial death during the Battle of the First Council in the First Era when the forces of Indoril Nerevar (who also died in the conflict) and his advisors of the Tribunal sought the powers of the heart for themselves.

Presumably due to his alleged meddling with the sacred artifact, Dagoth Ur later resurfaced in the late Second Era, and denied the now-godly Tribunal the ability to refuel their own divinity through the Heart of Lorkhan. The Tribunal, as a result, largely withdrew from public life, and instead spent all of its dwindling powers to maintain the Ghostfence, a barrier meant to keep Dagoth Ur locked within the Red Mountain Region on the island of Vvardenfell.

This worked well enough until Dagoth Ur began to cover Vvardenfell with The Blight in the 427nd year of the Third Era. The strange phenomena, carried forth from Red Mountain by the natural ash storms of Vvardenfell, caused people and animals to turn mad and slaughter one another; all while the Ash Slaves of the Sharmat set up hidden bases well beyond the Ghost Fence.

The eventual salvation of the Dunmer only came through the Nerevarine, an unknown foreigner whose appearance had been foretold in the prophecies of the Daedra-Deity Azura. Regaining the Tools of Kagrenac, the powerful Sunder and Keening, the Nerevarine destroyed the Hearth of Lorkhan and annihilated Dagoth Ur right with it.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Season 1[edit | edit source]

Dagoth Ur may or may not have debuted in the sufficiently cursed 8chanmania XIII, but shared the fate of many Dark Souls players when he ran into GiantDad.

He next appeared in 8chanmania XV, although a lack of records means nothing beyond him participating is known.

He fought in and ultimately won the belt of 8chanmania XXI. Sadly, the only details we know about it is that he - like everyone else in the tournament - was wearing a maid dress while doing so.

Ur would later fight against Jesus H. Christ in 8chanmania XXXIII and lost to him. Not that the poor bastard wouldn't have a tendency to lose against prophesied saviors.

Season 2[edit | edit source]

His fourth appearance in 8chanmania LXXIX was cut short by Ansem, who not only defeated him, but also stole the Heart of Lorkhan from the ash vampire.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The exact details of Dagoth Ur's first death were never clear. Some claimed he was killed after mortally wounding Indoril Nerevar, the same man whom to whom he had promised to protect the heart of Lorkhan. Others sources claim that he was murdered by the Tribunal during negotiations at the border of Red Mountain. Owing to the reality-shifting powers the Tribunal enjoyed while still having access to the hearth, there is a fair chance that all of it is true and none of it is true.
