Dick Gumshoe is a recurring character from the Ace Attorney series.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Dick Gumshoe serves as a homicide investigator of the the local police department. He habitually gets himself assigned to and involved with particularly complicated case - a somewhat unfortunate tendency, as the frequent incompetence and clumsiness of the somewhat bumbling detective have seen him suffering so many pay cuts from his superiors that his salary probably goes into the negatives by now.

For all of his flaws, Gumshoe still is genuinely enthusiastic about his work and sports the occasional flash of genius that leaves both friends and foes baffled. Another laudable trait of his is Dick's unshakeable loyalty towards his friends - particularly Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth. His almost child-like personality also means he is fairly good with children.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Dick debuted in 8chanmania LXXXII, where he won his first match against Banjo and soon would earn himself the eternal gratitude of the audience by making Neco-Arc shut up. Unfortunately, his attempt to question the TF2 Engineer about the Zaku II the latter had stolen earlier in the season was met with indiscriminate violence.

For the tag-team-themed 8chanmania LXXXVII, Gumshoe teamed up with his old pal and destroyer of income Miles Edgeworth. Their attempt to launch a criminal investigation on Hat Kid and Phantom R ended in disaster, as the two suspects refused to be investigated and just beat them up instead.

Far from done, the detective returned for 8chanmania XCV, and immediately found himself confronted with a high-ranking member of the Yakuza - Kazuma Kiryu. Attempting to bring a man to justice who had his very own concept of "jastisu" led to nothing more than a fast KO.

He and Edgeworth once more teamed up in 8chanmania XCVIII, and once more jobbed right out of the tournament when they were defeated by Phantom R and Lupin III. To add insult to injury, Edgeworth's attempt to have the thieves thrown into the royal dungeon by King Harkinian backfired when the latter threw them in the dungeon instead due to their failure.
