Ernest Powertools Worrell is an advertisement character that later proved so popular he got his own show called Hey Vern, It's Ernest! as well as several movies.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Ernest embodies the stereotype of an annoyingly chatty neighbor, and only exists to torment an otherwise nondescript man called Vern. Uninvited and unwanted, he will invariably show up at the most inopportune moments to chew Vern's ear off about anything ranging from soft drinks to his newly acquired car. Ernest's seemingly superhuman resilience to bodily harm means his own accidents or the odd attempt of Vern to kill him are bound to end in failure.

Several occult circles speculate Ernest either is a demon or some other type of eldritch abomination sent after Vern for unspecified reasons. Others have assumed Vern is, in fact, locked inside a VR simulation meant to test how far the advertising industry can go without producing permanent mental damage in potential customers. Whatever the cause, Worrell is an entity not to be understimated.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Ernest debuted in 8chanmania X, where he formed a tag team with Korean Robocop. They performed reasonably well against Zap Rosdower and King Shiva of Saldora, mutilated Isabelle and especially Bill Trinen for giving Animal Crossing fans the NTR treatment, and then faced Jimmy Hopkins and Russel Northrop in the quarter-finals. Sadly, missing records mean the outcome of this fight or any that might have followed have been lost.

He briefly returned for 8chanmania XXII, which saw Ernest wrestling Al Bundy in a pre-show match. Both fighters proved borderline-indestructible, to the point that the match had to be aborted after 27 minutes.

Ernest's last tour of duty came in 8chanmania LXXIV, and promptly ended when the frost giant Brauggi forced him to tap out.
