Illidan Stormrage is a major character from the Warcraft series.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Twin brother to the legendary druid Malfurion Stormrage, Illidan's entire existence can be summed up as him being a giant simp for Malfurion's sweetheart Tyrande. No, seriously. Everything bad from the War of the Ancients to his current incarnation invariably boils down to the fact that he got cockblocked by Malfurion. His initial obsession with magic? A means to impress Tyrande. Him accepting demonic powers? An attempt to fight fire with fire in order to save the world - but mostly Tyrande. Him helping his brother after the latter saw him imprisoned in an underground vault for 10.000 years? Because of Tyrande. Him absorbing the skull of Gul'dan? An attempt to become stronger, slay the invading demons, and become stronger in the eyes of you-know-who.

For whatever it's worth, Illidan's nature as a comically edgy anti-hero made him an instant fan favorite. Which basically means every single time he is killed to great cinematic effect, Blizzard will invariably bring him back. So far, he's survived being cut up by Arthas Menethil, getting the crap out of him by an entire raid before his long-term stalker Maiev Shadowsing finished the job, having his soul thrown into the Twisted Nether, and, as of now, being the forever jailor of the demon lord Sargeras. Chances are Blizzard will come up with a bullshit excuse to have him pop up again sooner or later.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Illidan debuted debuted during 8chanmania VI, but nothing beyond that is known.

His sole properly recorded fight was during 8chanmania XXXVII, where he faced Sauron. The result was a crushing defeat. When Illidan asked Sauron if he was not going to offer him conquered worlds in exchange for his submission, Sauron notably delivered one of the fieriest burns in mania history by replying Illidan should not speak of conquered worlds when he had failed to conquer but a single woman.
