"SPEHSS MEHRENS! TODEH, TEH ENEMEH IS AT OUAH DOAH!"
— Indrick Boreale

Indrick Boreale is a character from Warhammer 40.000: Dawn of War, specially from the Soulstorm expansion pack.

Bio[edit | edit source]

During the events of Soulstorm, Boreale is given command over no less than five companies of the Blood Raven's chapter to cleanse the Kaurava system from recent incursions by xenos and heretics (and to prevent both the Imperial Guard and the Sisters of Battle from finding naughty secrets in the local chapter fortress. While the game itself leaves the ultimate winner of the Kaurava conflict ambiguous, Dawn of War 2 tells us that Boreale's genius led to utter disaster for the Blood Ravens, with the chapter losing roughly half of its total strength as the result of their defeat. In Indrick's defense, the entire thing probably was set up by his chapter master (even if that means he just sent he most incompetent guy he could find).

Despite of the major implications his failure had for Dawn of War's plot before Relic unceremoniously murdered the series with Dawn of Moba, Boreale is most fondly remembered for his cheesy lines and, in particular, his hilariously bad voice acting. The latter may extend to some other faction leaders in the game as well (special mentions to Chaos Lord Firraveus Carron), but the concentrated speech impediment that starts leaking out whenever Boreale opens his mouth makes one wonder whether sending the Blood Ravens to Kaurava under the lead of an older special needs child really was the best of ideas.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Season 1[edit | edit source]

As with most fighters who debuted in the first season of 8chanmania, we have no idea when exactly Boreale debuted. That being said, there is a likely candidate in the form of 8chanmania XXVI, where Indrick not only defeated Jack Cayman, but also received Jack's chainsaw as a "gift to the chapter". Sadly NiGHTS, his opponent in the next round, proved much less generous.

One week later, in 8chanmania XXVII, Indrick was successful in beating up the "fake Emprah" Karl Franz, but subsequently was vanquished in an epic battle of the minds against Cirno.

He would return for 8chanmania_x_MFW_-_IN/V/ASION, where he tried to "acquire" Utsuho Reiuji for the chapter and turn the Hell Raven into a Blood Raven. Utsuhu, alas, did not appreciate this and called down a localized star on his bald head.

Season 2[edit | edit source]

Indrick serves as the manager of Apollo Diomedes during 8chanmania LV - at least for the entire length of time it took Apollo to be kicked out of the preliminaries by a Tonka Truck.

Season 3[edit | edit source]

Boreale's grand return to the ring in 8chanmania LXXX was cut short when he promptly tapped out against Lord-General Castor. The latter probably punched him so hard that he lost his speech impediment, causing Indrick to run out of the ring while crying "Space Marine-sized tears". His speech impediment would only be restored in 8chanmania XCIII, where Boreale - serving as the manager of Tech Marine Martellus, threw himself against Chip Hazard after his brother-marine had been defeated. This earned him another mouthful, but somehow cured his language issues.

Though not directly participating in 8chanmania XCVIII, he and his fellow Blood Raven Martellus appeared as the enemies of the 80s Noise Marine and the Goff Rokka in an aftershow match following 8chanmania XCVIII. Although their biological augmentations and armor was supposed to field them from dangerously high noise levels, they did little to protect them when the Marine and the Rokka began a guitar duet that was loud enough to shatter more than just their eardrums.
