Lala is a dullahan from the manga and anime Monster Musume.

Bio[edit | edit source]

A dullahan is an Irish spirit of death who greets those slated to die into the afterlife, akin to the grim reaper in a more popular definition of the concept. She is blue-skinned, shapely, and dons black clothing. Her eyes glow yellow for some reason also. What a weird looking girl. Anyway, In her original medium, Lala lets on that she's a huge chuuni and is terribly awkward in dialogue with the other characters in the manga.

Lala employs unorthodox techniques in the ring, such as removing her head completely from her body and fighting perfectly well without it, and can still communicate effectively without her head through the use of, as she explained, magic. She also uses her scythe to damage her opponent, as well as a myriad of technical wrestling moves and powerful kicks.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Season 1[edit | edit source]

The dullahan debuted at some point during the first season of 8chanmania, but the exact date has been lost to history. Recovered archives show she at least fought in 8chanmania XIV and 8chanmania XVII, although the only clear fact beyond her participation is that she did not win a belt in either tournament.

Her first properly recorded role in a tournament was during 8chanmania XXVII. There, she gave Jack Frost the cold shoulder, managed to be less socially inept than Tomoko Kuroki, and then tapped out against the merciless karate instructions of Chop Chop Master Onion.

8chanmania x MFW - IN/V/ASION[edit | edit source]

Following the abduction of Brendan Fraser at the hands of Endolynn, the latter also abducted the sweethearts of assorted monstergirls to force them to fight in her name during the cross-board 8chanmania x MFW - IN/V/ASION. Lala was one of these bereaved women, and honored her role as a spirit of death by proving to be a proverbial killing machine - having warmed up by not letting Sam Hyde get away with this, she proceeded to wreck one Season 1 legend after the other, including Australian legend Dan Murphy, Imperial legend Sly Marbo, gym legend Aniki and the dabbing legend Proto Man. This properly qualified her as the chosen one, and she fittingly went on to banish the out-of-control eldritch abomination Shugr'gnest (with friendly help from WIP).

But she was not done - with Brendan Fraser still captured and her own husband as well as that of all other monstergirls still in the hands of Endolynn, Lala wasted no time to give the duchess herself a rather sizeable piece of her mind (this time supported by a disgruntled Teagan Almace) and, upon defeating Endolynn, freed all those who had been taken away from her. Lala thus immortalized herself in the minds of mania fans everywhere.

Season 2[edit | edit source]

Although she already had earned her laurels, Lala's hunger for combat was not yet sated. Nominated as the board representative for the site-wide 8chanmania XXXIV, she readied her scythe and ... was knocked out of the preliminaries by the Jackie Chan Tulpa, itself representative of /x/. Let none say fate doesn't have a sense of humor.

Season 3[edit | edit source]

It would take one season and ten manias until Lala recovered from this humiliation and made her grand reappearance in 8chanmania LXXVII, this time being slightly more successful: She bested the MUGEN gambling girl Salt-chan, forced Tingle into submission, and somehow resisted the sharp edge of a slightly different Crash Bandicoot. Her only mistakes was to get between Default-Chan and the prize money when the former badly needed the latter to pay the debts of her daddy.

She and Celty Sturluson for 8chanmania LXXXVII, but the two quickly got booted by Rance and Stork when Rance landed a crit on Celty.

Lala's stint in 8chanmania XCVI was remarkably brief, as she immediately got kicked out of the preliminaries by the Hex Maniac.
