"STOP! YOU VIOLATED THE LAW! Pay the court a fine or serve your sentence! Your stolen goods are now forfeit!"
— Guard

The Oblivion Guard is a much beloved NPC from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivon.

Bio[edit | edit source]

As his name suggests, the Oblivion Guard upholds law and order in the Empire's own home province of Cyrodiil. His legendary reputation stems from the extreme degree of dedication he places upon tracking down fugitive criminals: Regardless whether they hide in the deepest depths of ancient Ayleid ruins, wander along the very edges of Cyrodiil, or are swimming miles away from the coast of the Topal Bay, the Oblivion Guard will eventually track them down and demand their submission - be it to the law, or to his sword.

Real talk: The Oblivion Guards gained notoriety due to a bug/developer oversight that gave them a chance to spawn right next to the player whenever the latter used the rest or quick travel functions and had a bounty on his head. This led to bizarre results when the guard not only appeared out of thin air, but also "followed" the player to hilariously unlikely places as mentioned above. Truly, no criminal may find rest within the Imperial province of Cyrodiil.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

The Oblivion Guard fought in 8chanmania XLVI, but somehow got bulled by the teenager Tiff Crust. His own comment that he has a family to feed in Kvatch left rather unpleasant implications.

His luck in 8chanmania LXXXII was none the better - faced with Fargus, the Oblivion Guard did not make it past the preliminaries.
