Sadako Yamamura is the titular antagonist of the Ringu series.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Sadako is a malevolent spirit that enjoys crawling out of televisions and scaring people to death. More specifically, she appears precisely seven days after her victims have watched a cursed video tape she herself has created (and craftily keeps in circulation).

Her original background varies between the novelizations and the movie adaptions. The overarching idea is that she boosted impressive psychic powers as a child, but then died when she was thrown and sealed in a well. Her overwhelming desire for vengeance leads to the creation of aforementioned video tapes to keep herself "alive" in the memories of other humans, and it all turns into a big mess involving jealous stepmothers, rape-induced smallpox, and Sadako actually being genetically male.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Sadako debuted in the Halloween-themed 8chanmania XXXV, where local ghost girl expert Point Man did her in via pinfall.

She had another haunting in a pre-show match for 8chanmania XLI. Facing the randomly thrown together rubble of TF2 Scout, Point Man, Headdy, Ran Yakumo, Ditto, Shaggy Rogers, and H.P. Lovecraft, Sadako's inherent scare factor proved useless; and Lovecraft took the match instead.
