Terry Andrew Davis was an American programmer.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Terry had a relatively regular upbringing as seventh of eight children of a Wisconsin Mom and a Wisconsin Dad. His early contact with an Apple II while in elementary school gave Davis a strong interest in computers, which later translated into a master's degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University. Two years later, however, Terry got a call from no-one less than God himself.

As he relaid to him, God still wanted his third temple. Except this time, it was not to be a physical monument stuck in a perpetually war-torn desert nation, but a digital operating system. Which Terry was to develop all by himself. To illustrate this: If Noah himself was tasked to craft a boat, Terry was tasked to build nothing short of a veritable skyscraper.

An although it took him the better part of ten years, Terry delivered.

TempleOS, as the piece of software eventually became known, is widely considered as proof that 'mad' more than often is good neighbors with 'genius'. Some people will insist that Terry A. Davis was a diagnosed schizophrenic and batshit insane in general. The same people might also insist he frequently used racial slurs during his livestreams, and ended up as an insane hobo run over by a literal train.

As it is, however, Davis still managed to stomp a fully functional operating system out of the ground and/or thin air. Which is an awful lot more than most regular blokes can pride themselves over.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Davis had a brief stunt in 8chanmania XLVII, but all of his divine inspiration could not help him against the criminally smooth moves of Buane.
