VJ Emmie is a video jockey from Uganda, best known for his work on the Ugandan national epic Who Killed Captain Alex?

In Reality[edit | edit source]

As the average Ugandan does not necessarily have the means to watch his own video tapes or DVDs and cinemas are not that common in the country either, Ugandan movie enthusiasts instead flock to so-called movie halls, where they an watch Hollywood flics and local productions at very reasonable prices.

Many of these video halls in turn employ video jockeys, who either act as simultaneous interpreters and translate English movies into one of the native languages (basically producing a one-man dub), or simply spice up what is shown with their own commentary.

VJ Emmie is one of those guys, and was immortalized after the version of Who Killed Captain Alex with his overlay became the only surviving one (the original having been permanently lost due to an electricity outage). Not that this is necessarily a bad thing - if VJ Emmie can't at least put a grin on your face, you better check if someone broke your funny bone.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

VJ Emmie debuted in 8chanmania LI. He delivered a very promising first round against notorious wizard and child abductor I.M. Meen and apparently planned to (forcibly) recruit him for a new movie, but the dreams of Wakaliwood were cut short when Senator Armstrong did the same with Emmie.
