"Genocide is just another game"
— Yuuka

Yuuka Kazami is a powerful and ancient youkai from the Touhou series. She served as a boss in Lotus Land Story, while Mystic Square and Phantasmagoria of Flower View saw her as a playable character.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Old even by youkai standards, Yuuka is one of the more powerful youkai in Gensokyo. She is very fond of flowers (sunflowers in particular) and fittingly is known as the Flower Master of the Four Seasons. Her fondness towards plants, however infamously does not extend towards other lifeforms.

On the contrary - although she can be polite if need be, Yuuka will readily kill other people with the same kind of disregard one might use when getting rid of bothersome weeds. She indeed seems to cherish this form of "gardening work" up to genocidal levels, but while some people claim Yuuka is merely joking when talking about such things, her track record during the mania suggests she's the only one who gets to laugh.

In 8chanmanania[edit | edit source]

Season 1[edit | edit source]

Yuuka quite likely debuted in 8chanmania II, and made her intentions clear when she made Neptune tap out so hard the other girl never entered a mania again. She went on to ensure Pepe the Frog "feels bad" and personally ended the Hulkamania, but then was defeated by Aniki.

She was next seen in 8chanmania IV. Yuuka did unpleasant things to the already suicidal Sayori, and had Manny Pardo tapping out. She was next set up to fight Duke Nukem, but while the record ends here, it is safe to say she did not win the belt.

The scenario repeated in 8chanmania V, where she once again remained beltless.

She only acquired said belt in 8chanmania VI; after a long fought battle with Hank Hill.

She consequently appeared in 8chanmania XXXIII, but her aspirations for the belt of the grand champion were cut short when Akuma landed a KO on her right during the preliminaries.

Season 2[edit | edit source]

Much as she reappeared in the Windows era Touhou games after first starring in the PC98 ones, Yuuka also returned for 8chanmania: Season 2. She first showed up in 8chanmania XLI and mercilessly tortured Edea Lee into proverbial submission before she got her shit kicked in by Pikachu Libre. Her second performance was in 8chanmania XLIV, where she fought alongside fellow genocide enthusiast Luca Blight.

Yuuka left a lasting impression during 8chanmania LVIII - she brutalized Garrosh Hellscream, Lester K Chaykin, Kawase Umihara and Marie Kanker. Even in her final match against Impact Brawler, she proved too tough for the initial submission crit and still tried to land a last pin on her opponent before going out cold.

Apparently getting subjected to a recreation of the ending to Kill Bill wasn't enough to keep her down, so gave it another try for 8chanmania LXI. Things started out interesting when she faced fellow genocide enthusiast Mecha Hitler during the preliminaries, but the angry Austrian stood no chance against her. Nor did Horatio the First, Specs Weedle (which she notably KO'd after a mere fifteen seconds) or Maria Renard. Not even the mad dancing skills of Duane! managed to impress her, leading to Yuuka winning her second champion belt.

She finally faced the other champions of the second season during 8chanmania LXVI. Yuuka was not very nice towards Bury Pink Girl, but her demeanor towards Dr. Morbis was hardly any more polite (considering she even took Ugandan Knuckles from him. Plum's attempt to protect her friend Cirno from the floral fiend apparently only delayed the inevitable, and Kunio likewise stood no chance against her. When Yuuka ultimately stood against the fan favorite Muscle Wizard, the audience collective held its breath.

Long story short? Yuuka won. Although it was a battle for the ages, the youkai of flowers defeated the magician of muscle, and thus took 8chanmania's second belt of the grand champion. Her further plans of turning the arena into a gigantic slaughterhouse mercifully met unexpected resistance when the IRS showed up to repossess 8chanmania due to excessive financial debt. It went beyond saying that Madame Kazami was not okay with this, but as her fight against not one but three IRS agents showed, even an ageless abomination like her is powerless against the taxman.

Season 3[edit | edit source]

While Yuuka herself made no appearance during the third season, she apparently formed her own little cult of personality and/or prison gang around herself. Notable fans of hers included a brainwashed Ugandan Knuckles (who regarded her as his "Kwen"), Bryan Fury and, at least presumably, REDACTED.

8chanmania C[edit | edit source]

As one of the three grand champions, Yuuka faced Brendan Fraser and Dr. Morbis in the last of all fights during 8chanmania C. Or would have liked to, at least, if it had not been for the sudden intervention of Gondola and WIP, who forced the trio to team up against it across space, time, and assorted video games. It was only after they had battled Gondola to the very edge of the universe and used the raw Frasergy within it to alter reality itself that they managed to make Gondola fall asleep.

This, in turn, allowed them to resume the actual fight. Unfortunately for her, Yuuka was the first of the three fighters to be defeated.

Epilogue[edit | edit source]

Despite of the general assumption that her loss and forced return to Gensokyo would drive her to even greater acts of cruelty, the actual effects of Yuuka's return to her garden were much to the contrary. Having been locked up in various prisons and cages for the better part of three years, being able to return to her beloved flowers had a profoundly positive effect on the sanity of the youkai. She proceeded to personally hug every last flower within her garden, right along a number of badly shaking faries. Then she noticed some humans were trying to pick some of said flowers while still thinking her absent, and she merrily buried them right under the plants.

It mattered little. Yuuka was finally home.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Yuuka is especially dreaded for her "Hum" - with her often humming merry, cheerful melodies while brutalizing the enemy.
  • Yuuka's so far is the first and only known person other than Chara who utilizes the power of genocide.
