The YoRHa No. 2 Type B, better known under the moniker 2B, is the main protagonist of NieR: Automata.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Part of the YoRHa B series, 2B is a dedicated combat android that serves as the infantry of the YoRHa resistance in the 14th Machine War of 11939. This makes her lethally effective with a wide array of close combat weapons, and also allows her to command a variety of "pods" (effectively airborne drones) to support her with ranged fire.

2B was the sole survivor from an entire squad of other B series models after an attack on a building-size machine lifeform within a set of industrial ruins. She subsequently was ordered to protect and assess the performance of a relatively new YoRHa No. 9 Type S model; whose natural curiosity drew an abnormal amount of emotion from the otherwise taciturn warrior.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Season 1[edit | edit source]

2B (likely) debuted all the way back in 8chanmania V, but nothing beyond her not winning a belt there has survived the test of time.

She next appeared in a pre-show match prior to 8chanmania XXVII, in which she had to battle 9S himself. Ironically, the combat unit was forced to tap out. She fought an additional pre-show match against Jenny Wakeman, which she also lost via pinfall.

Equipped with generous rear armor, 2B was a natural candidate for the porn-themed 8chanmania XXX. She lost against (but was also given a hug by) fellow android Drossel von Flügel.

Season 2[edit | edit source]

Her last appearance was in yet another pre-show match against 9S in 8chanmania XXXIV. Unlike last time, she actually managed to best he shorter comrade via pinfall after eleven minutes and nine seconds.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • 2B's name is an obvious allusion to Shakespeare's old idiom "To be, or not be, that is the question."
