Story Segment: Nobody Expects the Imperial Inquisition![edit | edit source]
Thanks to the surprise visit of Slaanesh and its servant Doomrider during the last mania, the ring and everything around it had become hopelessly tainted by the vile influence of Chaos. This drew the attention of the Emperor's Holy Inquisition, who did not entirely like the idea of having what might as well be an open warp rift in a facility anywhere close to Holy Terra itself.
Even as the tournament seemingly continued as per normal, famed Ordo Malleus Lord Inquisitor Jaq Draco had employed Inquisitor Lancor to spy on the mania. The latter's report was alarming, and he seriously considered slapping Space Marines onto the problem until it stopped being a problem. Instead, he opted to lead the necessary cleansing operation personally - not to the least because Lancor had mentioned the sight of some Genestealers in the whole mess.
Jaq and his assassin-bodyguard Meh'Lindi got their boots on the ground just in time for the semi-finals. Draco thought the situation even worse than Lancor had reproted, for amid all the shit, piss, and other daemonic fluids one should not think too hard about, the Inquisitor found nary a Genestealer. Nonetheless, Jaq rebuked Meh'lindi's suggestion of just blasting the whole place to hell from orbit, and instead opted for further investigation. Totally not because he hoped he could find some Genestealers after all.
By the time the tournament reached its finals, Jaq and Meh'Lindi were spotted and came under fire from the 80s Noise Marine and a horde of gibbering Slaaneshi cultists. They would have been overrun, had it not been for the timely intervention of Captain Indrick Boreale and his Blood Ravens Space Marines. This saved Draco's life (and probably his soul), but also produced a pandemonium of gunfire and whirring chainswords.
Since this was no way to host a fighting tournament, Default-Chan employed a cunning plan: She threw a blanket over herself and pretended to be a ghost. Which, oddly enough, worked; sending both Imperial and Chaos forces to wherever they had come from. Unfortunately, the disguise worked so well that a mortally scared Jaq Draco teleported right back to the ship of Admiral Spire waiting in low orbit and ordered him to perform Exterminatus upon the facility.
It was only by means of an Aperture Science-created pocket dimension that she and Violet managed to survive the proverbially Earth-shattering attack. And with the whole planet and everyone on it now being sub-nuclear ash drifting in space, a desperate Default-chan turned to a darker force, best left slumbering:
Cue Square Enix Mania.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The mania was pushed back a week for unrelated reasons.
- Big Bill Hell KO'd Turbozord a whole 65 seconds into the match.
