Adam Goodes is a retired Australian football player.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Joining Australian professional football under the North Ballarat Rebels at the age of sixteen, Goodes was scouted by the Sydney Swans in 1998, and became part of its first team in 1999. His seventeen-year career with the swans had him play in 304 games (thereby breaking the 303 game record of Swans legend Michael O’Loughlin), earn two Brownlow Medals, and become four-time nominee for the prestigious (if largely fictional) All-Australian team.
Owing to his heritage as a half-Aborigine, Goodes also was known for his outspoken nature about the various societal issues facing Australia's native people. This proved to be a divisive topic; with one front (up to and including prime minister Tony Abbott) coming to Goodes' defense, and the opposing front taking part in a 'booing campaigns' that lead Goodes to throw the towel for good in 2015. /ausneets/, of course, is immensely fond of him.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Adam Goodes debuted in 8chanmania XLVI, where he was defeated by John Doe.
