Akhmet is the main protagonist of the very Russian Marauder: Man of Prey (or alternatively just Marauder).
Bio[edit | edit source]
In an alternate timeline, where the United States (ab)used the fall of the USSR to softly occupy Mother Russia with a mix of government bribes and boots on the ground, the Russian hinterland beyond Moscow and St. Petersburg has turned into a desolate dystopia. The government has effectively collapsed, anarchy reigns, and while the Americans closely guard the natural resources they're plundering, the local populace suffers under what Russians affectionately call 'banditry'.
In other words, it's a dog-eat-dog world, and one particularly annoyed mutt named Akhmet Zyanov decides he might as well bite back. He thus becomes the eponymous Marauder - a heavily-armed scavenger that later forms his own gang to loot the crumbling Soviet apartment blocks of Rossiya for canned soup and loose change. It's essentially the Slav equivalent of Jagged Alliance; and if the clanky looks put you off, you can go right back to playing Fire Emblem.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Season 2[edit | edit source]
Akhmet debuted in 8chanmania XXXVII. Notable achievements included defeating an X-Com Rookie, outsmarting Waluigi, and getting flayed alive by The Lady of Pain.
He returned for 8chanmania XLII, where he defeated Aya Brea and somehow KO'd Archaon the Everchosen before he, in turn, ate a crit from Junko Enoshima.
His appearance in 8chanmania XLIX was a fairly short one, as Akhmet immediately was cheeki breeki'd by a Duty Stalker.
Akhmet oddly enough teamed up with Ikaruga from Senran Kagura for 8chanmania LXV, but the weird couple was quickly sorted out by J-Bomb and a Tonka Truck.
Season 3[edit | edit source]
Akhmet's last tour was in 8chanmania LXXXV. Or would have, at least, had he not tapped out against Dunpan in the preliminaries.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Marauder was based on the book of the same name by Russian author Berkem al Atomi.
- While Marauder portrays its grim setting as the result of an evil NATO Globomo American invasion, Russians never needed outside help to ensure Russia was, indeed, Russia.
