Alex Eggleston is the protagonist of YIIK: A Postmodern RPG.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Stemming back to Krystal in the days of Season 1, the mania has a tradition of including characters that most of the audience would normally despise. But where many of these candidates follow the 'so-bad-it's-good' rule otherwise applied to B-movies, Eggleston stands out as a fighter that was built and nominated out of pure, sheer spite. A genuine shitpost, so to say.
In theory, Eggleston comes from a groundbreaking indie game, whose deep and immersive plot motivated intense circle-jerking among assorted games journalists. In practice, YIIK: A Postmodern RPG is so goddamn postmodern that Eggleston looks like an intentional parody of the Soy boy meme, and any attempt to discuss YIIK itself will immediately be drowned by a flood of even more shitposting.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Alex Eggleston fought in 8chanmania XLIX. His poor attempt to confuse Vivec with postmodern, vaguely ironic lore turned into a curb-stomp battle as Vivec donned his water-face and patiently explained the true-but-not-true teachings of Kirkbride himself. That Eggleston's defeat was listed as a mere pinfall instead of catastrophic mental trauma was only possible through the goodwill of the corresponding referee.
