"Nano da!"
— Arai-san

The Common Raccoon (better known under her nickname Arai-san) is one of the many animals-turned-humanoids from Kemono Friends.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Arai-san is a headstrong girl that is blessed with a good dose of self-confidence and belief in her own superiority, but less blessed with actual common sense. While she has something like a personal minder in the form of Fennec, Arai-san's hot-blooded nature will often get the better of her; leading to mildly hilarious situations where said hot blood leaves the scene just before Arai-san does she runs into actual trouble.

The raccoon's main drive is finding a secret treasure buried within the local mountain. Problem is, only the mysterious Lucky Beast haunting Japari Park knows where to find it, and the only way to communicate with the beast lies in wearing a certain hat that once belonged to one of the former zoo guides. Except the hat sort of grew legs, and became friends with a serval, so Arai-san and Fennec now have to follow in the footsteps of the would-be thief.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Arai-san fought in 8chanmania XI. There, she would take out Steve Irwin, Mario, and Char Aznable; earning her a spot in the semi-finals. N. Tropy proved to be a bit too much for her, though, and the raccoon finally got sent home. Due to dialogue being non-existent at the time, it's unclear what her motives for entering the tournament were. Chances are she was looking for her stupid you-know-what.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Arai-san skipped past the usual limit of each mania only allowing five non-vidya characters because the Anon who nominated her went rules lawyer and insisted she totally was from Kemono Friends: Kingdom instead of the anime.
  • Above rules-lawyering led to a rule change making characters that did not originally come from video games 'non-vidya'.
