Bob is a recurring character from the Animal Crossing series.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Bob (also known as Nekoban from the grorious Nippon version) is a lazy-type villager - making him relaxed, laid-back, and extremely fond of food. He unsurprisingly gets along with other lazy-type villagers, but Bob is chill enough to get along with nearly everyone. The only exception to this are jocks and snooty villagers, whose over-inflated egos and attention-whoring simply doesn't mix with a man who doesn't give a damn.
Bob appears in all Animal Crossing games, including the Japan-only Dōbutsu no Mori on the Nintendo 64. His January 1st birthday and him being the first character to get both an e-card and an Amiboo card have caused frequent speculation that he was the very first villager to be designed for the whole series. Director Hisasho Nogami would eventually confirm this in a 2020 Famitsu article.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Season 2[edit | edit source]
Bob debuted in 8chanmania XL. He kicked Masahiro Sakurai out of the preliminaries, avenged TF2 Scout by somehow managing to land a pinfall on Spontaneous Bootay, and even managed to beat the Touhou creator and drunk master ZUN. It was only the raw, genocidal fury of Luca Blight which caused him to be defeated in the semi-finals.
His second appearance was in 8chanmania XLII. Bob sent the obnoxious weaboo vampire Yuki packing and performed animal abuse on Serval, but then was booted out by Plum in the quarter finals.
He, alongside Ankha, fought in the 8chanmania XLIV tag team tournament, only to be kicked out right during the preliminaries by Marina Liteyears and Plum.
He and Hat Kid teamed up for 8chanmania LIII. Their initial victory against The Snatcher and Evil King Stan did little to prevent them from suffering a countout loss one round later against Touhou girls Fujiwara no Mokou and Keine Kamishirasawa.
Season 3[edit | edit source]
Following a lengthy pause, Bob returned for 8chanmania XC. His submission-based victory against Hank Hill was of little use when Blake threw him out one round later.
Bob was last seen in a sideshow match during 8chanmania XCVIII, in which he and Cheshire Cat teamed up against Neco-Arc and Kyu for the right to be initiated into the mysterious Nyankuza. Rest assured, Bob and Cheshire won handily.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Bob was affectionately known as 'Faggot Cat' with the 8chanmania audience; largely based on his debatable sense of fashion.
- His "pthhhpth" trademark sound supposedly represents the noise a cat makes when throwing up a fur ball.
- There is no one around to help.
