Catherine "Cate" Archer is a British field operative and the protagonist of The Operative:No One Lives Forever and its respective sequel.
Bio[edit | edit source]
With her mother dying soon after birth, and and her father offing himself due to the family's financial trouble, a teenaged Cate spent her early years as a professional thief. She eventually tried to empty the pockets of Bruno Lawrie, who happened to be an agent of the international intelligence organization UNITY - and put her to archival duties before recognizing her value as a field operative.
As a secret agent, Cate spends most of her time thwarting various plans of the hatched by the terrorist organization H.A.R.M. Who nearly might be a credible threat (whatnot with randomly making people explode and breeding supersoldiers), were it not for the fact that the games are stupidly tongue-in-cheek about the entire 1960s James Bond style.

Season 2[edit | edit source]
8chanmania XLV[edit | edit source]
Having been forcefully 'acquired' by GLaDOS just like anyone else, Cate immediately used her debut in 8chanmania XLV to hatch an escape plan - and a team to put it in action. She helped Venom Snake to remember the basics of CQC (while using gentle force to recruit him), and then pulled a similar stunt against the professional killer known as Agent 47. Seeing her as an ideal driver for the mandatory golf cart, she also tried to add Plum to her merry band, but had to learn swinging golf clubs all day gives you a whole lot of upper body strength.
8chanmania XLVII[edit | edit source]
Unfazed, Cate restarted her recruitment drive during 8chanmania XLVII. She invited Travis Touchdown (by twisting his arm until he said 'yes') and also happily accepted Trenya into her group after defeating him. Her attempt to 'steal' Phantom R still backfired as expected..
8chanmania LIII[edit | edit source]
Very much a team player, Cate did not pass up the opportunity to form a team together with Point Man for 8chanmania LIII. Together, the two defeated:
- Raiden and Jetstream Sam
- Doomguy and Ranger (leave it to Ranger to job)
- Dark Donald and Rare Akuma
For all of their operative prowess, however, the two agents lacked the rhythm to beat Buane and Scatman John.
8chanmania LXV[edit | edit source]
Not one to give up, Cate infiltrated 8chanmania LXV alongside a guy that really likes to play children's card games while riding on a motorcycle. Unfortunately, her attempts to recruit Agent 00 and Carlos Diaz to her cause was met with hostilities and an eventual defeat.
8chanmania LXVI[edit | edit source]
Kate herself never won a belt and thus technically was not invited to the grand finals of 8chanmania LXVI. Nonetheless, she and her team were aware of GlaDOS' and SHODAN's plan to forcibly wrestle control of the mania back from Hatsune Miku - and thus made a few neat alterations to the mania's electronics that ensured the takeover wasn't quite as effective as intended.
Season 3[edit | edit source]
8chanmania LXX[edit | edit source]
Cate was sent to 8chanmania LXX to apprehend the notorious criminal mastermind Gru. Though she technically defeated him, Gru managed to make a hasty escape as his minions briefly flooded the ring with zoom gas. Frustrated, Cate continued with the tournament but wasn't quite fast enough for the likes of Snake Sanders.
8chanmania XCV[edit | edit source]
Kate's last appeared in a plot segment of 8chanmania XCV; having been sent in by UNITY to destroy the mysterious Wrestle Gear before Teagan Almace and her crew could do so for FOXHOUND. Apparently putting greater faith into Teagan than folks at home did, she was willing to let Teagan's group pass if the latter (i.e. the chat) could solve one riddle. The fact that (You) immediately fucked up was to be expected, but didn't stop the plot from progressing anyway.
