Citizen Snips is specific build for Drapions used in Pokémon Showdown matches, courtesy of 8chan's recurring /fullderp/ threads.
Bio[edit | edit source]
While many /fullderp/ edits were specifically meant to troll your opponent into a ragequit, others genuinely sought to beat the socially well-adjusted folks over at Pokémon Showdown in their own game. Through long trial and error, this resulted in the creation of Citizen Snips - a Drapion that comes equipped with the moves Acupressure, Rest, Sleep Talk, and Knock Off, as well as the Battle Armor ability.
So, how does it work?
Acupressure gives a good boost to a random stat of the Pokémon. This theoretically would allow a Pokémon to buff itself to Kingdom Come, were it not for the fact that this does take time. So you do stall for time - Battle Armor makes Drapion immune to crits, Rest allows it to regenerate HP, and Sleep Talk allows it to attack even while asleep due to Rest. After Knock Off removed any Held Item surprises, it's mostly a matter of time while Snips buffs itself to obscene levels.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Season 2[edit | edit source]
Citizen Snips debuted in 8chanmania XLII. There, it snipped Gene into submission, but quickly fell to Junko Endoshima in the next round.
Snips fittingly made a return in the Pokemon-themed 8chanmania LIV, with the Fullderp Champ as its trainer. It was immediately sent packing by the eldritch abomination MissingNo. during the preliminaries.
As all good things come in threes, the Senior Snipper once more showed up for 8chanmania LV. He earned an early win against Pikachu Libre, but subsequently lost against Garfield.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Citizen Snips is named after an irate crab of the same name from Futurama.
