Cleveland Mark Blakemore is the last living Neanderthal and a game developer.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Blakemore originally worked for Wizardry publisher Sir-Tech, and worked as a consultant for Wizardry: Stones of Arnheim. When the latter was cancelled due to the outsourced Australian team not being able to bang rocks together, Blakemore decided to create his own dungeon crawler: Grimoire: Heralds of the Winged Exemplar. The game underwent beta testing in 1998.
Twenty (20!) years later (and after a failed 2013 Kickstarter which promised a release later that year), Grimoire somehow emerged from the tenth circle of development hell. Meaning the game was so fucking oldschool, even GOG turned it down. Thankfully, Steam's Greenlight system was slightly more lenient on it, and the game received lots of praise from people with severe autism.
On August 3rd, 2020, Blakemore announced a new RPG called Post-Atomic. A conservative guess towards its release date hovers around 2099.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Cleveland only appeared in 8chanmania XV, and nothing beyond him not winning a belt there is known.
