Davey Boy Smith was a British professional wrestler.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Smith started wrestling at the tender age of fifteen, accompanied by his cousin and frequent tag team partner Tom "Dynamite Kid" Billington. Around 1979, Smith was spotted by Bruce Hart of the Canadian Hart wrestling dynasty. As result, he underwent training at the family's notorious "Dungeon" and went on to become one of the big player in the Hart-owned Stampede Wrestling promotion. He and Dynamite Kid would soon form a duo popularly known as the 'British Bulldogs', a moniker Smith later used for his solo career.

Already trained by and even having married into the Hart family, it came as little surprise when Smith first formed a tag team with Owen Hart, and later was inducted into the Hart foundation alongside Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart. Davey Boy joined Bret and Neidhart when they left WWE for WCW after the Montreal Screwjob, but returned a scant year later when the death of Owen Hart started the Attitude Era.

Smith openly retired from wrestling in May 2000. While he had planned to resume his career alongside his son Harry Smith, the British Bulldog died from a heart attack on May 18th, 2002.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Davey Boy Smith debuted in 8chanmania X; forming a tag team with Owen Hart. Sadly, their march to glory came to a prompt standstill when they were thrown out of the preliminaries by Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho.
