Downfall Hitler is the cinematographic version of Adolf Hitler from the German 2004 movie Der Untergang.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Back in the day, German director Oliver Hirschbiegel set himself up to a daunting task: He wanted to film a historical drama that showed Adolf Hitler as a real human bean. Given that Hitler as a historical figure is in a perpetual state between demonization and idolization, this was a pretty tall order. But Hirschbiegel did his homework, and created a movie that even Ian Kerhsaw gave a thumbs-up.
The flick's lasting popularity, however, did not come from the brilliant acting of Bruno Ganz, but the fact that the movie came with subtitles instead of an English dub. Meaning people could edit the subtitles into literally everything. Coupled with Hitler's bombastic rant at one point of the movie, this led to over 9000 videos of Hitler venting steam on Ryanair, Indian call centers, or the price of parking tickets in Tel Aviv.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Downfall Hitler fought in the Hitler-themed 8chanmania LXXXVIII. He was dismayed to find that his legacy had been turned into a qt. anime grill, and then got his ass beaten by said qt. anime grill.
