Freddie is a recurring character from Cromartie High anime and manga.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Cromartie High being an completely normal school attended by completely normal students, it goes beyond saying that one of said students just happens to look like a carbon copy of Queen's own Freddie Mercury. And, more importantly, the 1980s version of Freddie after the later had left behind swapped out his previous, vaguely androgynous looks for the manliest mustache ever grown on this planet.
Of course, Freddie is not, in fact Freddie Mercury - much in the same sense the Jackie Chan Tulpa is not, in fact, Jackie Chan. Who or what Freddie actually is remains a mystery to his co-students as much as to the audience. Freddie himself certainly won't say, as he doesn't mutter so much as a single word during the entire run of the show. Then again, there is a non-zero chance a single word of his could turn all female students (and teachers, and just women in general, situated within a generous blast radius) into unsuspecting mothers.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Freddie debuted into the bancho-themed 8chanmania XLVIII, and quickly left said mania after learning that Sousuke Youki doesn't need a golf driver to hit stuff.
For the tag-team-themed 8chanmania LXV, Freddie joined ranks with The King. What could have been a great revival of the Golden Age of Rock'n'Roll sadly was cut short at the hands of Tatsumi Oga and Takashi Kamiyama.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Freddie rides to school on an enormous, midnight-black stallion modeled after an equally enormous equine from Fist of the North Star.
- Deffy seemed to be infatuated with him, softly blaming it on Freddie having 'such a way with words'.
