Grookey is a Grass-type Pokémon, and one of the three starters from Pokémon Sword & Shield.
Bio[edit | edit source]
As the old proverb goes, one should speak softly and carry a big stick. But Grookey isn't really capable of speech muttering its own name and angry chimp noises. This makes the big stick all the more important, and as Grookey is a gifted musician, it will rhythmically hammer its sticks across pretty much everything it comes across - including opposing Pokémon, the ground, and the skull of its own trainer.
While this instinctive behavior makes it somewhat annoying to keep around, Grookey's nature as a Grass-type Pokémon means that its drum solos actually invigorate nearby plant life and other Grass-type Pokémon. This unique form of concussive maintenance makes it a popular choice for both gardeners and Grass-centered trainers, and only comes at the low cost of the constant drumming (and chimping) noises.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Grookey fought in the Pokémon-themed 8chanmania LIV; with Shield-chan serving as its trainer. Its jungle beat didn't did little to bend the Omerta upheld by the Honchkrow of Rita Ciano.
