The Humboldt Penguin (generally better known as Hululu) is one of the many animals-turned-humanoids from Kemono Park
Bio[edit | edit source]
Like all other 'Friends' in Japari Park, Hululu originally was a fairly critter before the mysterious essence known as Sandstar turned all of them from 'animal' to 'anime'. Since then, Hululu and four other former penguins have formed Japari Park's first idol band, PPP. She often is a bit worried that her tendency to space out makes her unable to keep out with the choreography of her colleagues, but the latter see Hululu being a bit of a ditz as part of her charm.
Aside from her role in official media, Hululu is best known for the unlikely 2017 romance with the real-life Humboldt Penguin Grape-kun. The latter had become weirdly fixated with a cutout of Hululu placed into his enclosure as part of a promotional campaign, to the point the penguin's love for his waifu became so viral, the Zoo allowed the cutout to stay after the campaign was over. And after Grape-kun died later that year, too - but with the addition of a little penguin by her side.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Hululu has made 2 appearances as a referee in 8chanmania. The first time was in one of the very first manias, but the exact one has been lost to the memory hole. The second time was at 8chanmania IX. Grape-kun made an appearance in that mania as a fighter, and Hululu cheered him on as he established his dominance over Pingu. Unfortunately, Grape-kun's next opponent was the Wampa, who promptly destroyed him while Hululu could only watch on in horror.
She has not made any appearances since; presumably busy nursing her admirer back to health.
