Jonathan Carlton, better known under his stage name Johnny Cage, is a playable fighter from the Mortal Kombat series.
Bio[edit | edit source]
As a washed-up action star that mostly joined the Mortal Kombat tournament to revitalize his career, Cage is a decided oddity among competitors that range from secretive ninjas to literal gods. The overall impression isn't helped by the fact behaves like a walking stereotype of a narcissistic Hollywood has-been. Some people suggest the actor is merely acting, but if he is, the man deserves an Oscar.
Still, and to the chagrin of many of his would-be allies, Kage remains one of the staunchest defenders of humanity against the forces of Outworld, the Nether Realm, and those three other places. Him not being afraid to bring a gun to a fistfight certainly helps, as does the fact that Cage actually is a distant descendant of warrior cult bred and trained for fight for the gods themselves.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Johnny Cage fought in 8chanmania LVI. In a rare turn of events, he got standing ovations from the audience for breaking the bones of Papyrus, but Cage tapped out in a submission hold of Solaire one round later.
