Kadabra is a Psychic-type Pokémon, first debuting in the original Pokémon Red & Blue.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Kadabra and its evolved form Alakazam mostly serve as a reward for players who went through the huge pain of catching its unevolved form Abra without having the little shit teleport away or accidentally KO'ing it in the process. The entire process is so frustrating and arduous that the developers decided to give each Kadabra a bending spoon hand-signed by Uri Geller himself.

Kadabra's power derives from its ability to emit a particular brand of alpha waves that can cause induce everything from malfunctions in machinery to severe migraine attacks in organic opponents. Its actual control over this skill is not entirely complete, however, and even a relaxed Kadabra will give most people around it at least a mild headache.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Kadabra fought in the Pokémon-themed 8chanmania LIV, with Reigen Arataka serving as its trainer. It splendidly defeated the Landorus (Therian Form) of Sumireko Usami, and turned out to be a major pain in the head for the Fairy Hare of Elvira. Despite of serving as its designated hard counter, it still got its mustachio'd face punched in by the Hitmonlee of Blemmy in the quarter-finals.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Pokédex entries from the original Japanese version of Pokémon Red claim Kadabra originally was a human boy with psychic powers that transformed overnight. This apparently was deemed to scary for Western audiences, and the line was altered in oversea releases. It later was re-added in Pokémon FireRed.
