Leandro Pardini is the lead developer of SCORE, and emulator for the long-derelict MMO City of Heroes.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Once upon a time, there was an MMO called City of Heroes. It allowed players to play as either Super Heroes or Super Villains in a classical comic setting (long before Marvel started shitting out movies by the dozen), and by general consensus, it was good. Unfortunately, City of Heroes was not World of Warcraft, and its inability to print money as WoW did eventually had the game shut down.
Suffice it to say people were not amused. They were even less amused when they, years later, learned that a shadowy cabal had reverse-engineered a client and the Homecoming private server for the game; keeping both on a strictly invite-only basis for fear of potential lawsuits. And when the news finally broke and public private servers popped up, SCORE held on to player data that would have allowed people to play their old characters.
Suffice it to say there was quite the shitstorm, with SCORE and Leandro insisting they had and have to keep things secret due to legal issues and an NDA on the part of the game's former publisher, while former CoH players went nuclear over the thought they hadn't been invited to the party. And while 2024 finally saw NCSoft giving Homecoming an official license to run the game, many people still are unhappy with Leandro at the wheel.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Leandro Pardini fought in the board war of 8chanmania LXII, where he represented /argentinia/. Turns out, only being a super hero inside an MMO means you get violently dabbed on by Peter Gaybriel.
