Mach Rider is the bike-mounted player character from the from 1985 NES/Famico game of the same name.
In Reality[edit | edit source]
After Earth has been overrun by hostile vehicles called Quadrunners in 2112, Mach Rider races across its deserted highways and from sector to sector in his search for other survivors. This is easier said than done, for the roads are littered with debris and hostile Quadrunners, and short of simply avoiding them, Mach Rider must make creative use of the twin machine guns mounted on his bike.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Season 2[edit | edit source]
Mach Rider entered the mania during 8chanmania XLI and was immediately outraced by Captain Falcon.
His second start at 8chanmania XLVII provided the same ending at the hands of Viewtiful Joe.
It was only during 8chanmania LI that Mach Rider defeated his first enemy in the form of George Constanza - and immediately got kicked out again in the next round by the Generic Fighter. Maybe he's just getting old?
Him entering 8chanmania LX and getting ripped and torn by Doomguy probably spells that out.
Season 3[edit | edit source]
Mach Rider's sole appearance in the third season was in 8chanmania LXVIII, and he once again failed to make it past the prelims - this time thanks to Takumi Fujiwara.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Although chiefly known from his video game, Mach Rider first came to life as physical toy car with a small ramp to be launched from. It was not directly produced by Nintendo, but licensed from Hasbro for sale in Japan. The original name of the product was "Yellow Tail 1 Fun Car".
