Gary Brolsma, better known as the Numa Numa Guy, is an US-American video blogger and musician.
Bio[edit | edit source]
In the dark ages, people that wanted to record themselves doing stupid shit for fame and attention still had to use a hand-held recorders and send the corresponding VHS to the equivalent of America's Funniest Home Videos - which probably wouldn't air it, anyway. The advent of the internet and webcams revolutionized the whole affair; as users could now upload themselves doing stupid shit whenever they wanted.
One of the pioneers in this business was a certain Gary Brolsma, who uploaded a clip of himself lyp-syncing and dancing alongside the Romanian-language song Dragostea din tei from the Moldovan eurodisco band O-Zone. This was as silly as it sounds (nevermind Brolsma thought it was a Japanese song), but nigh-instantly made him one of the first Internet E-Celebs alongside the Star Wars Kid and Chuck Testa.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Numa Numa Guy fought in the 2000s-themed 8chanmania LXXXVI. While respecting Frank West's wish to do an interview with what he deemed a living legend, Numa Numa Guy also insisted that this was a tournament - and that West had to defeat him first. Suffice it to say West got his interview.
