Pious Augustus is a major character from Eternal Darkness.
Bio[edit | edit source]
While still among the living, Pious Augustus used to be a Roman centurion; leading his men in search of a mysterious artifact during a campaign against Persia. While searching for the latter (the artifact, not Persia), Pious begins to hear voices calling out to him. Next thing you know, he's inside a forbidden city, swears fealty to one of the Old Ones, and becomes a fancy lich in return.
While ultimately just a lackey to Cthulhu's lost cousins, Pious' quest to get his respective deity back home makes him the signature villain of the game. Equipped with powerful magic, seemingly unending hordes of Lovecraftian mooks, and assorted mindfuckery that routinely breaks the fourth wall, the lich's only weakness is his utter inability to put up a convincing disguise.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Pious fought in 8chanmania XXV, where he faced a fellow military man in the form of General Sturnn. His attempt to corrupt the good general ended with him eating a nasty KO.
