Punished /v/ is the board mascot of /v/ - Video Games.
Bio[edit | edit source]
/v/ already was cynical asshole that fervently prayed for a second video game crash back when he still resided on 4chan. The 2016 GamerGate drama and the subsequent large-scale exodus of users to 8chan lead to the creation of 'Punished /v/' - a battle-scarred version of the original figure whose loss of an eye and an arm (alongside a new daughter) did not improve his behavior in general and his opinions on the gaming industry in particular.
8chan itself somehow saw him jumping from the frying pan into the fire. A kind soul might argue /v/ merely follows the usual cycle of innocent minds turning into bitter old men that frown over everything new. Which might make for an interesting cultural treatise, but you better pay sixty bucks if you want to see the abstract, and pre-order the season pass at Starbucks to get 50% of the article. You can then get the remaining 30% as part of the Definite Edition, and the other 20% across eight different DLCs.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Season 1[edit | edit source]
Punished /v/ debuted in 8chanmania XIV, but lacking records mean nothing beyond him not winning a belt has survived.
In first board-wide mania of 8chanmania XXVIII, Punished /v/ made Chad Warden tap out, but subsequently suffered ruptured eardrums when he lost to /tg/'s Sly Marbo.
Season 2[edit | edit source]
/v/ acted as the secret boss of 8chanmania XXXVIII, and promised the tournament's champion Teagan Almace that Uncommon Time would no longer be a shit game if she could best him. Teagan did, but /v/ warned her that there was another disaster already waiting beyond the horizon. And Uncommon Time is still shit.
Season 3[edit | edit source]
Following the forced transformation of the /b/rotha into /b/oratio during 8chanmania LXXXV, a very disgruntled Punished /v/ stormed the stage during 8chanmania LXXXVI to put The Ratio to Horatio. He defeated the bigheads mooks in the form of PS3-tan and Boxxy, but by the time /v/ finally got face-to-face with the Horatio'd /b/rotha, forced him to square off against the fallen board mascot and Milhouse at the same time. The joke being that Milhouse actually was the Epic Fail Guy in disguise, and /v/ had to throw the match because winning against the EFG would have created a logical paradox.
But /v/'s rage is something else. Entirely unwilling to put up with this bullshit, he pulled a Son Goku and drew in power from the audience to launch an immense spirit bomb; restoring the /b/rotha to his original status. As one might expect, the two of them then ensured that Horatio's pool was, in fact, closed.
/v/ and the /b/rotha subsequently formed a tag team in 8chanmania XCVIII. They took out Kurt Wylde and Captain Falcon R, but Punished /v/ went on to tap out in their next battle against Big Tiddy Tau and Hex Maniac in the following round.
