R-23 is a former Replica Soldier who won the belt of 8chanmania XLVI.

Bio[edit | edit source]

R-23 began is life like any other Replica Soldier - which is to say that he one of at least a thousand clones of Paxton Fettel that were mass-produced in the Perseus Compound. Genetically programmed to follow Fettel's telepathic commands, he presumably joined his countless brethren when the latter slaughtered their way out of the compound during the second Synchronicity Event, and as things were, R-23 likely would have remained yet another mindless puppet that would eventually get a shotgun to the face by the Point Man. Fate, however, had other things in store for him.

Season 2[edit | edit source]

R-23 originally debuted as a conventional Replica Soldier in 8chanmania XLVI. Bereaved of his telepathic link and radio contact to command, he was left with a crippling headache and an entirely unknown degree of free thought when he first faced Nanami. Defeating her, he would take the girl as his "hostage" while he feverishly tried to figure out what to do with himself, even as the girl quickly began to place herself as a big sister of sorts for the wildly confused clone soldier.

Encouraged by Nanami, he more and more became accustomed towards his free will while forcing Junko Enoshima and Crazy Bus into submission. His fight against Parappa saw both disqualified as part of a ringout in the first round, but R-23 eventually managed to land a pinfall on the rapping dog in the second round.

His most remarkable battle was against Captain Falcon in the finals of the mania. Finally landing yet another pinfall against the race pilot during a decidedly high-octane match, Captain Falcon announcd his plans to retire, and handed his own title to R-23. The latter, having only attained a sense of self-consciousness mere hours ago, reacted with understandable surprise, but as the good captain assured him, the fire needed to become his successors had been burning within R-23 all along. Who knows what glories might be awaiting this diamond in the rough?

As of 8chanmania LXVI, the answer seems to be nothing much: Despite of making it to the grand finals, R-23 was immediately booted out of the latter by the notoriously fast knuckles of Impact Brawler.

Season 3[edit | edit source]

Captain Falcon R made his return in 8chanmania LXXV - and, in a moment of cruel irony, was kicked out again by Captain Qwark. For what little it's worth, Quark offered to teach R-23 how to be a proper hero.

The nature of this offer became more obvious when he and Qwark formed a tag team for 8chanmania LXXVI. Sadly, the fact that both technically are wildly unqualified to be proper super heroes meant that they stood no chance against the certified supervillains Ganon and Exdeath. Worse still, the defeat reconnected Captain Falcon R - or R-23 - with the Replica Hivemind, effectively returning him to the telepathic control of Paxton Fettel.

The latter made good use of his new slave by having him act as his team-mate during 8chanmania LXXXVII. Their trail of Fear was cut short when they ran straight into Dr. Morbis and his new pet, Nemesis, but whether R-23 regained his free will following their loss is unknown (or, worse, not very likely).

Hold the presses, he did! Although still clad in his original uniform, R-23 clearly regained his Falcon R personality by the time he teamed up with Kurt Wylde in 8chanmania XCVIII. In less pleasant news, the two immediately jobbed to Punished /v/ and /b/rotha.

8chanmania C[edit | edit source]

Once more under the yoke and telepathic control of Paxton Fettel, R-23 was ordered to kill Point Man. But while he told the latter to "DIE, MOTHERFUCKER!", Alma Wade would have nothing of it, and promptly proceeded to bash his head in. The unconscious Replica was later found by Nanami, who tried to restore his free will as she already done before. R-23 immediately attacked her, forcing Nanami to "beat the stupid out of him".

Even so, R-23's sanity was only partially restored. Nanami thus took him to a true hero - Groose. The Prime Pompadour re-taught R-23 all about heroism through the liberal use of concussion therapy, and largely turned R-23 back into Captain R Falcon. This caused the sudden appearance of Kurt Wylde, who immediately challenged to Replica to a proper race. Although R Falcon lost the race (if only by a mere fifth of a second), this loss in itself finished his transformation into a heroic racer.

Falcon R subsequently went on to face Paxton Fettel himself, and gave him a beating that was the stuff of legends. It ultimately was his own heroism that prevented the Replica from outright killing his genetic father, despite of the fact that Fettel mocked him for this seeming weakness. Be it as that may, justice was restored.
