Rhenoplos is part of the local wildlife from the Monster Hunter series.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Rhenoplus resembles a bizarre mix between a rhinoceros, a (proto-)triceratops, and an ankylosaurus. Like all three of these creatures, Rhenoplus nominally is a peaceful herbivore that ideally just wants to be left alone while it is grazing. Like the beasts that inspired it, Rhenoplus also has a brain the size of a walnut, and will charge at everyone and everything that enters what it considers to be its territory.
This results in two problems: For one, the laws of inertia mean Rhenoplus has a hard time getting itself to a stop once it starts running, so anyone with the vaguest understanding of bullfighting is capable to simply sidestep its attack and see it barreling right into the nearest hard object. For another, Rhenoplos also will charge at monsters several times its own size and/or power; which often equals a free dinner.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
A Rhenoplos appeared in the mook-themed 8chanmania LXXXIV. Just being put into the same ring as Ogretail sufficed to have it dash straight towards the colonial organism, but since the ropes of the ring are made with elasticity in mind, this mostly led to it being catapulted right into the counterattack of its foe.
