Roger Smith is the main character of the anime show The Big O.
Bio[edit | edit source]
In theory, Smith is a mediator - the type who goes into hostage situations and tries to talk the kidnappers into not murdering any of the given hostages. In the event that the kidnappers don't play nice, Smith can also call in and pilot a five-story mecha (the eponymous Big O) to make them play nice and/or kill them. In short, he's the Japanese equivalent of Batman - the main difference being he uses a giant robot instead of a costume to dole out justice.
Smith is aided by Dorothy Waynewright - a female-styled android whom he rescued from a hostage situation gone bad. Essentially serving as the mysterious lady that walks straight into the office of the hard-boiled private detective, Dorothy sends him up for a quest involving her, her maker, and Gotham Ci-, we mean, Paradigm City not really being what it is.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Roger Smith fought in the 90s-themed 8chanmania LII. He and Dorothy tried to subdue Elaine, but things turned a bit sour when Roger mentioned her late parents.
