Ryuujou is a boatslut from the Kantai Collection.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Like all the girls in the setting, Ryuujou is the moeblob version of a real-world WW2-era warship - in her case, the eponymous light aircraft carrier Ryuujou. The ship had a somewhat unusual design in that it lacked the tower-like island found in most other ships and instead had its bridge placed within its bow; just underneath the flight deck. As a result, the Ryuujou was a remarkably flat ship, and the jokes about the girl based on her were more or less writing themselves.
Her design satisfied the demands of the Japanese navy in the sense that she was a more-or-less functional aircraft carrier while her relatively low tonnage meant she wasn't recognized as such under the restrictions of the 1922 Washington Naval Treaty. On the flipside, the same weight restrictions also meant the Ryuujou was woefully lacking in terms of armor, and while the ship technically had two elevators to carry its aircraft from the hangar to the flight deck, the increasing size of planes during the war meant only one of them could be used effectively.
Having operated in areas ranging from Sumatra to the Aleutians, the Ryuujou ultimate was sunk through an airstrike of the USS Saratoga during the Battle of the Eastern Solomons on August 24th., 1942.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Ryuujou only appeared in 8chanmania XIV, and lacking records mean nothing beyond her not winning a belt has survived.
