Saisyu Kusanagi is a character from The King of Fighters, debuting as a mid-boss in The King of Fighters '95 and then becoming playable in The King of Fighters '98.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Saisyu is the father of the series' main protagonist Kyo Kusanagi; making him an older, more experienced, but ultimately just as cocky version of his offspring. He was originally thought to have died after a 1994 quest to challenge fighters from across the world, but as it turns out, Rugal Bernstein not only kept him in his personal gallery of fighters he defeated, but also had him brainwashed to serve as Bernstein's pawn in the semi-final round.
After being turned back to normal by having the living crap beaten out of him, he briefly goes into exile before popping up again to participate in the grand tournament of '98. Being the patriarch of the Kusanagi clan, Saisyu is a master of the eponymous Kusanagi fighting style, and also harbors the ability to manipulate fire.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Saisyu Kusanagi fought in 8chanmania XXIV, but was thrown out of the preliminaries after Juri Han had a bit of fun with him.
