Shao Khan is a recurring antagonist from the Mortal Kombat series, first appearing in Mortal Kombat II.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Once an adviser under the dragon king Onaga, Shao Khan turned the tables by poisoning his master and claiming Outworld for himself. His next move was to drain the life energy from all of Outworld's vegetation, turning it into a barren wasteland. With this set of resources gone, he set his sight upon his next goal - conquering all of the five neighboring realms, including humanity's own Earthrealm.
Though intimidatingly tall and physically imposing, Shao Khan is no simple brute - he holds all the cold intelligence required to organize military campaigns, possesses deep knowledge of the black arts, and can consume the very souls of his victims. His greatest weakness, in turn, is his own arrogance: His repeated attempts to conquer Earthrealm have mostly failed because he underestimated the local defenders.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Season 1[edit | edit source]
During 8chanmania X, Shao Khan teamed up with the Chinese general Guan Yu. Despite this odd chemistry, the two resisted the conversion attempts of Wololo Monk and Yuri, ensured Tormund Giantsbane and Sandor Clegane would not show up in a book that was never going to be released anyway, and outwrestled Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho.
While this means they made it into the semi-finals, missing records sadly mean it is unknown who they fought, or whether they won and made it into the finals.
Season 3[edit | edit source]
Shao Khan made a surprise reappearance in 8chanmania LXVIII. He went up and personal on Persona's Yu Narukami, but got pinned by Hawlucha in the following round.
