Siegfried Schtauffen is one of the playable fighters from the Soul Edge / Soulcalibur series.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Siegfried had an immensely unhappy childhood that involved him accidentally murdering his father, him going full schizo mode to pretend that someone else had murdered his father, and then deciding he would pick up the mythical blade Soul Edge in order to kill the man who killed his father. Only for the sword to promise him it would resurrect his old man if he fed it with enough souls.

As any person with a single remaining neuron would point out, listening to talking swords (especially cursed ones) is a poor idea. Siegfried does it anyway. He thus becomes the azure knight, Nightmare, and only gets back to his sense after having the crap slapped out of him by the other fighters. Presumably due to battered wife syndrome, he then picks up the same cursed blade. Again.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Season 3[edit | edit source]

Siegfried Schtauffen fought in 8chanmania LXX, where he was soundly defeated by Ganon.

Soulcalibur - in MY 8chanmania?![edit | edit source]

When Bane renewed his attempt to take over the mania in 8chanmania LXXIX by opening a portal to the Soulcalibur universe, Siegfried (and a random Clancer were the two allies awaiting him on the other side. But while not exactly a sheet of white linen, Siegfried soon balked at Bane's plans, and came to face him in a Soulcalibur duel proper; winning three of five rounds. This should have allowed him to strike the killing blow, yet just as he was about to raise his sword, Bane escaped through yet another portal.

The Masked Man returned just prior to the semi-finals, and since Bane had brought Cervantes de León to serve as his tag team partner, Siegfried brought his own physical support in the form of CIA. Their fierce battle shook the foundations of the ring itself, but eventually, Siegfried lay defeated. Bane, for his part, sealed away his would-be partner with an ofuda he previously had bought from "a little shrine maiden", and offered his services as a mercenary to Banzai Inc..
