Skylar is a side character from the 1993 Atari Jaguar title Cybermorph.
Bio[edit | edit source]
During the Galactic War, the last remnants of humanity were fighting a losing battle against the Pernitia Empire and its self-repairing robot legions. The human resistance had built new weapons to defeat this menace, but they - alongside their cryogenically frozen designers and other critical supplies - had all been placed within pods on worlds now conquered by the Empire. The player, commandeering the The Cybermorph TransmoGriffon morphing attack craft (or T-Griffon, for short) is tasked with retrieving these pods in order to give humanity the upper hand in the war.
In order to aid the player in this mission, the T-Griffon comes equipped with an on-board artificial intelligence known as Skylar. The latter is meant to act as his personal adjutant and advisor, but certain programming quirks within her code mean Skyar spends most of her time belittling the player's piloting skills - which isn't helped by the fact that the game has a draw distance of about two feet.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Skylar only appeared in 8chanmania XIV, and lacking records mean nothing beyond her not winning a belt has survived.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Skylar was popularized by The Angry Video Game Nerd, and shows up as a boss in the Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures.
