The Spanish Villager (not to be confused by his cousins from Resident Evil) is a merry peasant from Age of Empires II.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Ostensibly not much different from the villagers of other civilizations aside from its 30% faster construction speed, the Spanish Villager begins the game as a purely economical asset whose only chance to survive encounters with enemy military units lies in running as fast as his sun-tanned little legs can carry him.
This changes dramatically once the player researches Supremacy, the Spanish unique Imperial Age technology. The latter grants the villager a drastic increase in hitpoints, improves his armor, and also triples his attack damage. While a single villager still remains fodder for elite units like paladins or champions, the pikemen, skirmishers, and light cavalry that typically make much up of a player's army more than often will find the tables turned - especially given that a player's economic units typically outmatch his military ones by at least a 3:1 ratio. Coupled with the Sappers technology which increases the attack power of villagers against buildings and fortifications even further, supremacy-equipped Spanish villagers are quite capable of razing bases if not countered by gold-intensive units.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
The Spanish Villager debuted in 8chanmania LXXVIII. It first encountered the Elona deity Kumiromi and went full Spanish inquisition on its rear, but a peasant is a peasant, and a king is a king - something the villager had to learn the hard way in its next match against King Harkinian.
He also appeared in 8chanmania XCII, but immediately got speared by the Yari Ashigaru.
