Steve Irwin was an Australian animal adventurer, animal activist, and television personality.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Born in a suburb of Melbourne, Steve got his first twelve-foot-long (4m) pet snake at the age of six and started wrestling crocodiles under the supervision of his father when he was nine. When he met his wife Terri, they spent their honeymoon hunting crocodiles, and his daughter Bindie Sue is partially named after Bindi, a saltwater crocodile. His worldwide popularity came with the show Crocodile Hunter, in which Irwin perpetually prodded, poked, and generally annoyed a plethora of animals with very sharp teeth and/or lethally toxic poison - but mostly just crocodiles. In Steve's defense, his urge to touch dangerous animals was motivated by genuine excitement about the sheer beauty of nature - something he unfailingly shared with and spread among his worldwide audience.
Irwin's uncanny luck when it came to not getting killed by the animals he molested ran out during a 2006 diving trip to Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Approaching a short-tailed stingray in order to film it, he was taken by surprise when said stingray approached him right back and pierced his heart with its tail; causing him to rapidly bleed to death. His death caused great mourning all over the globe, and was only made worse when outraged fans proceeded to slaughter stingrays along the Australian coast in a pointless act of revenge. Had Steve himself seen this, one could only imagine how violently he would be rotating in his grave.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Steve Irwin debuted in 8chanmania XI. He was more than thrilled to face a furry foe in the form of Arai-san, but unfortunately lost the match.
