A quick encyclopedia of terms employed in 8chanmania

2[edit | edit source]

2.9![edit | edit source]

Being designed to entertain, Fire Pro Wrestling World would often have wrestlers fight themselves out of an attempted pinfall at the very last possible moment - the proverbial 2.9 seconds. This often reached comical levels as two opponents kept landing 2.9 pinfalls on one another for a small eternity before one party finally won the match by one means or another.

B[edit | edit source]

Baka Brigade[edit | edit source]

An informal team consisting of Cirno (the strongest), Zara (the fastest), and Remeer (the smartest). CDI Link would join in later.

Beltcuck[edit | edit source]

A jobber that normally makes it into or close to the finals, but invariably loses to the opponent without getting his belt. Chiefly associated with Brauggi.

Breath[edit | edit source]

The overall stamina of a wrestler. Moving in general and being subjected to chokeholds will reduce a wrestler's breath and ultimately leave them out of literal breath. A chokehold that reduces a wrestler's breath bar to zero can result in a submission victory on part of the attacker.

D[edit | edit source]

Dunpan[edit | edit source]

Pröööööö :DDD

C[edit | edit source]

Chair Trick[edit | edit source]

A special move in which a wrestler suddenly pulled out a chair and threw it towards the opponent to catch. While rarely successful, the chair trick could get an opponent disqualified for seemingly using a weapon inside the ring.

Corndog[edit | edit source]

A sausage that has been put on a stick and deep-fried in a layer of cornmeal batter. Corndogs are an illustrious part of 8chanmania's history after first being introduced by The Cheetahmen.

Crit[edit | edit source]

A critical hit, or KO. Crits come in different flavors: A direct crit will instantly KO the opponent and end the match immediately. A "submission" crit will utterly destroy the fighters' spirit and almost guarantees they will lose to the pinfall that usually followed next. In rare cases, a fighter could recover from a submission crit and defeat his opponent.

J[edit | edit source]

Jobber[edit | edit source]

A fighter that routinely gets defeated despite of frequent nominations. JC Denton and Cirno were the epitome of this until both finally won a belt.

P[edit | edit source]

Pin[edit | edit source]

A pinfall victory. This occurs if the opponent's shoulders are kept pinned on the ring mat for three seconds. By far the most common victory type, they come as both dedicated moves upon a downed opponent, and as part of larger moves such as suplexes or powerbombs.

R[edit | edit source]

Rigging[edit | edit source]

Something that never took place in 8chanmania.

Ringout[edit | edit source]

A form of disqualification. A ringout occurs if a wrestler stays outside the ring proper for more than a specific duration. Within 8chanmania, the ringout limit originally sat at 15 seconds, before being reduced to 10 seconds.

S[edit | edit source]

Spirit[edit | edit source]

The wrestler's fighting will. When a wrestler's spirit bar reaches zero, he or she will tap out and lose the match in a submission defeat.

Sub[edit | edit source]

A submission victory. Submission victories are declared when an opponent actively surrendered during a match by tapping out. They are achieved through anything ranging from armlocks, leglocks, stretches, chokeholds, or anything else designed to simply cause the maximum amount of physical pain or exhaustion in the opponent.

W[edit | edit source]

Whiff[edit | edit source]

An attack that fails to connect with the opponent. Especially prominent in top rope jumps, as failing to land on the opponent can significantly harm the attacker.

Walkout[edit | edit source]

A wrestler flatly leaving the ring without any further situation; forcing a repeat of the match. While possibly, Walkouts require a specific setup of the CPU logic that only was seen in Cornholio.
