The Tetris Block is an element from the popular Russian classic Tetris.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Originally created as part of a simple game by Russian AI researcher Alexey Pajitnov in order to test the capacities of new hardware, Tetris Block would become one of the most well-known video game characters of all times, with Tetris having made an appearance on practically all personal computers, gaming consoles, mobile phones, calculators, and even as an easter egg in non-related devices such as oscilloscopes.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
The first official appearance of the Tetris Block happened in 8chanmania XXIX, where it's unorthodox shape and tactics took many by surprise, beating Pac-Man and Mega Man (among others), and allowed it to make it to the finals, only to fall in a climatic battle against Sam & Max by a critical (and music-syncronized) attack.
Available information suggests that later it fought against JC Denton, and went on to fight alongside fellow Russian Zangief in a tag team against Mecha-Hitler and Big Boss during the last tournaments of the last season.
Tetris Block would later fight during 8chanmania XLI, beating Ditto in the preliminaries, only to be thrown out of the tournament by Wailmer in the subsequent round.
In 8chanmania L, the block got revamped by a custom edition and thus turned into the Line-Block. It talked to Baldur (but not his wife's son), stopped the cleptomanic tendencies of the Mithra Thief and, more importantly, defeated The White. The latter came to see Tetris Block as their promised champion and converted it to their cause - the return of all things within the known universe into a state of blank nothingness.
Empowered by his new role, the Tetris Block went on to wrestle down Todd Howard, and won its belt after a long and hard-fought match against Hatsune Miku.
