The Three Wise Men are a group of characters from the Bible that arrive to give a newly-born Jesus Christ.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Unnamed and unnumbered in the gospels, Western Christianity has canonised them as three saints by the names of Melchior (of Persia), Caspar (of India), and Balthazar (of Babylonia). Thought occasionally referred to as the 'three kings' (presumably to underline the submission of worldly rulers beneath Christ), they truthfully were early astronomers who busily ran after the star of Bethlehem until they found themselves before Jesus' crib.
Their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh each were befitting tribute both kings and even gods in ancient times, thus underlining Christ's role as the 'king of kings'. Alternative sources suggest each had a symbolic meaning, with gold representing worldly rulership, frankincense representing divine one, and myrrh representing the funeral rites awaiting Jesus some thirty years later.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
The Three Wise Men fought in the Christmas-themed 8chanmania LXXIV. Their unusually dishonest means of disqualifying their first opponent Bowling Elf through a chair trick immediately drew suspicion, as did the brutality with which they wrestled Dingle Kringle into submission. Melting down a Special Snowflake, they still were defeated and their lackluster disguise was undone by Matthew Stevens in the semi-finals.
Turns out, the Three Wise Men actually were the Three Cheetahmen.
