Utsuho Reiuji
Utsuho Reiuji is a hell raven from the Touhou franchises. She stars as the Stage 6 Boss of Subterranean Animism and furthermore is a playable character in Hisoutensoku.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Once upon a time, the goddess Kanako Yasaka thought she was mighty clever and told Utsuho to consume a fragment of the solar deity Yatagarasu; using her as a tool to bring the technology of nuclear fusion to medieval-tier Gensokyo (and plenty of faithful believers to herself). This plan functioned in as much as that Utsuho really consumed said fragment. It malfunctioned in as much as that all the power immediately went straight to Utsuho's empty head, so she set out to conquer (read: thoroughly glass) the surface world instead. Her friend and colleague Rin Kaenbyou fortunately sensed that someone was about to go nuclear, and thus released swarms of evil spirits to the surface, causing the game's heroines to come investigate the issue.
Personality-wise, Utsuho appears to enjoy a genius level-intellect when it comes to nuclear physics, and little to no intellect when it comes to virtually anything else. She still has her job of controlling the rekindled fires of Old Hell and is one of Satori Komeiji's many pet animals.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Season 1[edit | edit source]
Utsuho (likely) debuted in 8chanmania XIV, but nothing beyond her participating in the tournament is known.
Her first properly-recorded attendance was during 8chanmania XXXI. There, she famously form a tag team alongside Civilization's notoriously nuke-happy Mahatma Gandhi in "Team Nuke". With the Indian statesman authorizing her to unleash her "full nuclear arsenal", she almost blew up the entire ring and likely would have produced a second Chernobyl if she had not achieved the time-out against Jetstream Sam that ended the match.
The Nuke Bird's second notable appearance was during 8chanmania XXIV. There, she won her first two fights against a Tutorial Fairy from Glimmermitten Cove and Bazett Fraga McRemitz, but even her nuclear power was nothing against the nuclear fury of Teagan Almace.
Okuu and Gandhi once again teamed up for 8chanmania XXXI. They put the ion into the atom of Demifiend and Jack Frost, but none of their technology could hope to match that built into Mega Man and Proto Man.
8chanmania x MFW - IN/V/ASION[edit | edit source]
She would later face Indrick Boreale during one of the pre-matches lining up to 8chanmania x MFW - IN/V/ASION, but managed to resist the Space Marine's attempts to "acquire" her as a chapter relic.
Season 2[edit | edit source]
Utsuho and Gandhi once more formed a tag team during 8chanmania XLIV. They pulled a nasty strategic bombardment on Strelok and Artyom during the first round, but were less lucky when facing Doomguy and Ranger in the next one.
Season 3[edit | edit source]
Utsuho, this time with Gandhi as her manager, participated in 8chanmania LXXXIII. Ironically, the girl who ate part of a fucking sun god tapped out to a vampire of all things, namely Remilia Scarlet.
8chanmania C[edit | edit source]
The hell raven's last dance came about during 8chanmania C, where she faced Solaire of Astora. Earnestly believing the knight was aiming to steal her power over nuclear fusion, she fought bitterly until eventually facing defeat. Yet to her dismay, Solaire did not so much hurt her as he did propose to her - declaring her as his "very own sun" while lewdly holding her hand. Blushing to the deepest hue of red, Utsuho promptly raced out of the ring.
It would not take long for her to return, however, as Utsuho apparently still had some bills to settle with Mahatma Gandhi. She thus stormed into the Historical Rumble that took place a few hours later - and promptly was informed she had unwittingly joined the team of Bane while the latter tried to hijack that event. Against all odds (well, she was the last to enter the Royal Rumble and hence also was the least worn-down fighter), Utsuho won the match by throwing all of her opponents out of the ring with nuclear power.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Utsuho got most of her powers by devouring the mythical Japanese sun raven Yatagerasu. It is stated that her sheer stupidity was integral to this - some argue that she effectively served as an "empty" shell to take in the power of the solar deity. Others argue that a hell raven could impossibly hold so much power, yet Utsuho plainly is too dumb to know that.
